Virgin River has long been a favourite show for many Netflix viewers, offering a charming blend of drama set in a secluded northern California town, filled with heartwarming moments, emotional twists and a slow-burning romance.
However, as fans wait for the highly anticipated seventh season, many are voicing their frustration over the latest season, claiming that it felt rushed and disjointed in comparison to the previous runs.
The series focuses on the love story of Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) as they navigate their romance, as well as dealing with relationship issues.
The pair are joined in the remote town of Virgin River by their friends, family and colleagues as the characters deal with everything from gang wars, domestic abuse, murder and surprise pregnancies.

But while the first five seasons unfolded at a steady pace, season six seems to have hit the fast-forward button - leaving fans confused and ready to give up on the show altogether.
Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss their opinion on the latest instalment of the show. With one viewer expressing their disappointment: "I loved loved loved season 1-5 and will definitely rewatch before seven but season 6 is not giving what the other seasons gave."
Another user agreed, replying with: "Absolutely agree with your opinion. I really disappointed with season 6. I rewatch the show until season 5."

One of the main issues picked up by viewers, was that seasons 1-5 spanned over seven months with hardly any break in time before the next season.
Yet, in season six, time has moved quickly and over four months have passed since the previous instalment - which is very unusual in the Virgin River timeline.
"They weirdly amped up the pacing on season 6," one Reddit user noted. "Lizzie is 9 months pregnant at the start of season 6. I also thought the storyline with Mel’s dad came out of nowhere."

While other fans have brought up the issues surrounding Mel and her father Everett - who she never knew existed until the end of season five - and just how close they had become in the break between the seasons, expressing that it felt rushed.
One user stated: "I thought the storyline with Mel’s dad came out of nowhere. I recently did a rewatch and there were no hints that it was coming. And she didn’t have any significant feelings about her dad not being her dad….? Or her mum cheating….?"

Another fan chimed in with their opinion, hoping the story line between Mel and her father isn't in season seven, writing: "I really love Virgin River and have rewatched seasons 1 through 4 more times than I can count. When I get to season 5, I start to fast forward and I skip the Christmas episodes all together.

"Season 6 the wedding was beautiful but again I fast forward through anything to do with Sarah and Everett. Hopefully Everett and that whole storyline are gone in season 7, there are so many cliffhangers to work with," they continued.
Additionally, another viewer believed Mel and Everett's story ruined season six for them, calling out the show's producers for including it in the show.
They wrote: "That storyline ruined a lot of Season 6, hopefully the show runner and writers realise it was a huge mistake and drop it."
